Sep 08, 2014 (newstodate): At least one Danish airfreight forwarders is maintaining a positive outlook for growth in 2014.
-So far, the performance in 2014 has indeed been above levels of last year, says John Blasbjerg, ALPI Air & Sea managing director.
-We have seen a notable rise in exports, with many inquiries and ensuing confirmation of transactions. But even imports are starting to pick up again and this bodes well for the development in 2014 and beyond.
-We do believe in growth, but having said that we must accommodate to "the new world order". We will not see a return to the frantic growth rates prior to the financial crisis, but it should still be noted that if we look at the export figures for the years 2007-08-09, today's volumes are actually higher - which is an often over-looked fact!
-Now, the development over the coming three or four months will of course be decisive for the end-result of 2014. Will we see a pre-Christmas boom or not? says Mr Blasbjerg.
