Sep 23, 2014 (newstodate): Lithuania's Avia Solutions Group is working with Russia's state-owned Rostec Group to develop Moscow's fourth international hub - Ramenskoye Zhukovsky Airport.
According to the plans, the first new passenger facilities will be opened early in 2016, and by 2021 the airport will be handling up to 12 mio passengers as well as 40,000 tonnes of cargo.
Ramenskoye Zhukovsky Airport has two runways, one of which is the longest in Europe - 5,400m.
To transform the airfield into a fully-fledged international airport the company will build a comprehensive passenger handling complex and establish all the appropriate services.
Avia Solutions Group will invest over USD 30 million into the company's share capital and control up to 75 percent of the newly established company stocks.
The Russian partner will contribute to the project by bringing in the land and real estate currently under its ownership in the territory of Ramenskoye aerodrome.
The airport is currently under military control and has served also as a facility for air transport of Russian relief shipments to world disaster zones.
