Sep 15, 2014 (newstodate): First company to go live with e-AWB in all four Nordic markets, World Courier still carries the paper AWB in most cases..
-We are a niche player focusing on time-sensitive and high-value shipments primarily in the bio-pharma, medicals and to some extent oil & gas segments, all requiring strict adherence to standards and fast processing, says Anders Furbo, World Courier Operations Manager Denmark.
-We have certainly implemented the e-AWB but in most cases our shipments carry also the paper AWB to make sure that no snags occur at any point in the chain, notably at the handling stations along the route. Our shipments will not accept any delays or snags.
-As we are still in the early stages of the e-AWB experience we actually still spend much time on each e-AWB shipments, including calls over the phone to make sure that no errors have occured and that all data are intact. So it will require some time before we can actually see any benefits from the e-AWB measured in time consumed on the transactions.
-World Courier has signed global multilateral agreements and the implementation of the e-AWB is a global affair. We are still in the initial stages here in the Nordic region, but we are of course confident that the e-AWB will eventually bring the benefits promised, says Mr Furbo.
