Aug 22, 2014 (newstodate): The third CIS operator after Azerbaijan Airlines and S7 Sibir to place orders for Boeing 787-8 aircraft, Uzbekistan Airways will take delivery of its two aircraft in 2016.
But Boeing's commitment to Uzbekistan does not stop here: in cooperation with Boeing, Uzbekistan Airlines will open a new center for repair of composite structural elements at Tashkent, to be commissioned in November 2014.
From the start the center will offer component maintenance and repair works on Boeing 767 and 757 aircraft, adding Dreamliner capabilities from 2016.
In the airline's fleet now are 33 aircraft including 10 Boeing 767-300 and five 757-200, three Airbus A-310, 10 Airbus A-320, three medium-RJ-85, as well as two Airbus A300-600F freighter aircraft.
