Aug 05, 2014 (newstodate): Norwegian is an important customer for Swissport at Copenhagen Airport.
Norway's low-cost carrier Norwegian entered the air cargo business from May 1, 2013, naming Kales Airline Services as its cargo GSA in Scandinavia and Spain, Wexco in the UK, Aviation Plus in Holland and France, Heavyweight Air Express in the US market, and Worldwide GSA in the Thai market.
-Norwegian now operates 10 weekly rotations on flights to three US destinations which for us means at least one daily Norwegian cargo handling and two rotations on three weekdays, says Henrik Holming Werner, General Manager for Swissport Cargo Services in Denmark.
-This volume generates a steady flow of cargo through the terminal, with imports largely in the morning and exports during the evening, all contributing to a comfortably spread-out work load during the day and an even utilization of the resources invested.
-Despite a generally slow market during the summer season, we have actually seen a rather high volume of cargo in July over the past two years, peaking in 2013 but also considerable during especially the first 10-12 days of July, says Mr Werner.
