Aug 25, 2014 (newstodate): Norway's Oslo Gardermoen Airport is seeing its cargo volumes down in 2014.
In July 2014 the airport handled a total of 9,504 tonnes of cargo which was down 5.3 percent, y-o-y.
Included in the totals were 7,178 tonnes of international cargo that dropped 5.9 percent, while domestic cargo was 2,326 tonnes, also down 3.7 percent, y-o-y.
During January-July 2014, a total of 65,221 tonnes of cargo was handled at Oslo, down 1.8 percent, y-o-y, including 49,020 tonnes of international cargo, up 1.8 percent, and 16,200 tonnes of domestic cargo that dropped 11.2 percent.
Norway's airfreight volumes are actually rising steeply, notably the export volumes of seafood - but some 80 percent of these volumes are bypassing Oslo Gardermoen being instead trucked into continental airports.
