Aug 04, 2014 (newstodate): Denmark's Billund Airport is reporting a sustained drop in cargo volumes in 2014, with July 2014 as no exception.
In July 2014 the airport handled a total of 5,498 tonnes of cargo which was down 2.9 percent on last year.
The drop was caused by Denmark's decreasing imports which was down 23.7 percent, y-o-y, to 2,152 tonnes at the airport, while exports fared better, up 17.8 percent, to 2,226 tonnes.
In January-July 2014 the airport thus handled 35,753 tonnes, down 1.5 percent, y-o-y, including 13,892 tones of imports, down 13.5 percent, and 21,861 tonnes of exports, up eight percent.
