Aug 28, 2014 (newstodate): Russia's e-trade market is growing fast, driving the need for enhanced logistics to serve customers with short lead-times.
The e-trade by private consumers is especially focused on the Moscow and St Petersburg regions that together account for some 70 percent of the country's total volumes of e-trade driven shipments.
The US portal eBay is the prime driver also in the Russian market where trans-Atlantic shipments are lifted by players including notably AirBridgeCargo's Boeing 747 freighters while the domestic distribution is provided by another Volga-Dnepr Group carrier Atran Cargo Airlines, acquired in October 2011 to provide the company with capability to feed and distribute airfreight on the domestic network connected to the larger freighter hubs.
Atran Cargo Airlines is now adding another two Boeing 737-400 freighters to two similar aircraft already serving the carrier.
Atran Cargo Airlines also operates routes from Moscow to Liege and Luxembourg as well as to Malmo in Sweden.
