Aug 22,2014 (newstodate): The growing freighter traffic by Emirates at
Copenhagen Airport is easily felt by its cargo handling partner, Spirit
Air Cargo Handling.
-The increasing traffic by Emirates SkyCargo's freighters as well as
the carrier's daily passenger flights have boosted the cargo volumes
through our terminal, says Carsten Johansson, Spirit Air Cargo Handling.
-Emirates SkyCargo is now operating 10 freighter flights at the
airport, and while eight of these are transit operations generating
little import/export handling, at least the two weekly flights formerly
operated into Gothenburg in Sweden and now allocated to Copenhagen are
dedicated to the Scandinavian market and flying with high loads of
import and export cargo.
-The decision by Emirates to make Copenhagen Airport their
Scandinavian freighter hub is of great importance for us, and
I can of course only hope that the traffic will be expanded further,
says Mr Johansson.
Since July 1, 2014, Emirates has concentrated all freighter operations into Scandinavia at Copenhagen Airport.
Emirates SkyCargo's cargo GSSA in the Nordic and Baltic markets is ScanPartners, with HQs in Copenhagen, Denmark.
