Jul 28, 2014 (newstodate): Starting out with triangular operations into the Baltic markets of Estonia and Lithuania, Turkish Airlines is now to separate the services from Istanbul to Tallinn and Vilnius from this autumn.
Effective from October 26, 2014, Turkish Airlines will thus offer three weekly rotations between Istanbul and Tallinn as well as two weekly rotations between Istanbul and Vilnius.
Turkish Airlines launched the triangular service Istanbul-Tallinn-Vilnius on June 11, 2013, with three weekly rotations using Airbus A319 aircraft.
Turkish Airlines has long been serving the route between Istanbul and Riga, in Latvia, while the Latvian carrier airBaltic pulled out from the route from May 26, 2014, following the decline in transfer traffic from Ukraine and Russia but also in response to the intense competition from Turkish Airlines in the Baltic markets.
