Jul 29, 2014 (newstodate): Cargo volumes on IATA carriers are booming in the Norwegian market - but this is not reflected in the statistics by the capital airport Oslo Gardermoen Airport.
While export cargo alone on IATA carriers has consistently risen by 20-30 percent month by month through 2014, the airport's total international cargo volumes were up only 3.2 percent, y-o-y, to 41,848 tonnes during H1, 2014.
With domestic cargo down by 12.3 percent to 13,874 tonnes, the airport's total volumes thus landed at 55,717 tonne, down 1.1 percent, y-o-y.
The airport's statistics comprise only flown cargo, however, so the bulk of the country's voluminous export of seafood remains trucked out of the country bypassing airport statistics.
