Jul 28, 2014 (newstodate): Encouraged by the favorable EU verdict on the alleged state aid issue for air Baltic, the carrier has expanded its portfolio of firm orders for Bombardier CS300 aircraft.
At the recent Farnborough Air Show, the carrier signed up for an additional three CS300 aircraft by turning options into firm orders, and by this the carrier now awaits the delivery of a total of 13 aircraft of this type.
In 2012, airBaltic confirmed its order for delivery of 10 Bombardier CS300 aircraft, starting by Q4, 2015, with options for a further 10 aircraft three of which have thus now been firmed up.
The new fleet of medium-range aircraft to replace the Boeing 737-300 and 737-500 aircraft will complement the carrier's fleet of 13 Bombardier Q400 aircraft used on regional routes.
