Jul 01, 2014 (newstodate): As of today, Emirates SkyCargo is consolidating its Scandinavian freighter operations at Denmark's Copenhagen Airport.
Emirates SkyCargo Scandinavian freighter operations currently comprises six weekly freighter flights to Copenhagen, increasing to eight when the two Gothenburg freighter flights are consolidated and shifted to Copenhagen from today.
-While Gothenburg is still an important destination, we can achieve greater efficiency by operating all the freighter flights alongside one of our key online passenger points, says Robert Siegel, Emirates VP Commercial Operations Cargo, Europe and the Americas.
-With eight freighter flights a week to Copenhagen, coupled with the belly-hold capacity of an all Boeing 777 operation into Stockholm, Copenhagen and Oslo from September 2, 2014, we will offer more than 2,500 tonnes of cargo capacity, enabling new trade opportunities for importers and exporters across the region and across our worldwide network.
During the first five months of 2014 Emirates SkyCargo has lifted a total of 9,926 tonnes of Scandinavian export cargo including 2,224 tonnes from Denmark, 3,682 tonnes from Sweden, and 4,020 tonnes from Norway.
