Jul 03, 2014 (newstodate): The cargo carrier Martinair may be heading for new ownership - if potential buyers emerge.
An eventual sale would comprise the entire company including its AOC, freighter fleet and staff, but to retain its status as EU carrier, non-EU owners would be allowed to take only a minority stake, up to 49 percent of the shares.
Part of the KLM/AF group, Martinair operates a fleet totaling 11 freighters, including five Boeing 747-400 aircraft, four of which are leased from KLM Cargo, and six MD-11F aircraft.
One strong asset of Martinair is its traffic rights into South America and East Africa.
