Jun 19, 2014 (newstodate): After visiting Riga Airport in Latvia on June 12, The world's largest aircraft AN-225 Mriya is again in the Nordic region.
This time the aircraft will call at Norway's Oslo Gardermoen Airport today, June 19, on a mission to bring back military equipment from Norway's ISAF contingent in Afghanistan.
The 150 tonnes of loads include 10 20-feet containers as well as three large military vehicles.
Only one AN-225 was built in 1988 and remains in commercial operation with Antonov Airlines.
The aircraft holds the world record of lifting a payload weighing 253.8 tonnes!
