Jun 17, 2014 (newstodate): Russian Post has signed a new contract with the carrier TransAero for postal operations.
Under the contract, TransAero will transport 600 tonnes of Russian mail and parcels on its route network out of Moscow's Domodedovo and Vnukovo airports.
In addition, the two parties will cooperate on joint charter operations for mail on the carrier's main routes.
According to a analysis published in 2013 by the US company Discovery Research Group, DHL holds 40 percent of the Russian postal market, followed by UPS with 11.7 percent, and TNT with 10.3 percent.
This leaves some 38 percent of the Russian market shared by other parties, with Russian Post as the main Russian provider.
