Jun 23, 2014 (newstodate): Deliveries of new aircraft to the Russian carrier Komiaviatrans, based at Syktyvkar, show the truly globalized face of today's aircraft business.
Earlier, the carrier has been operating a fleet of rotary-wing aircraft only, but it is now to take in Embraer 145 aircraft as well.
A total of six aircraft of this type are currently being overhauled in Portugal, formerly serving with the Chinese carrier China Southern that has instead upgraded its fleet to Embraer 190 aircraft.
The E145 aircraft were actually assembled in China by Harbin Embraer Aircraft Industry Company Ltd, a JV between Embraer and Chinese corporation AVIC II.
They were delivered from Embraer in Brazil to the Chinese plant at ready-to-assemble kits.
