Jun 23, 2014 (newstodate): The Kazakh carrier Air Astana is adding a new air link between Kazakhstan and Europe.
Starting on June 21, the carrier is now online on a new route between Almaty and Barcelona, offering two weekly rotations with Boeing 757 aircraft.
Also in the pipeline is a new European connection with Kazakhstan as reported from a meeting in Budapest in the Hungarian-Kazakh intergovernmental commission.
Representatives from the two countries agreed on the need for establishing a direct air link between Budapest and Astana, reportedly to be opened by a Hungarian carrier.
As a precondition for a coming new route, the two countries will first have to make amendments to the current air services agreement.
