Jun 02, 2014 (newstodate): Starting from 2018, Icelandair will take delivery of its new fleet of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
The carrier has placed orders for a total of 16 aircraft, with the first three Boeing 737-8 to be delivered in 2018, followed by another four 737-8 and two 737-9 aircraft.
In 2020, the carrier will receive four Boeing 737-9 and one 737-8, to be followed by another two 737-9 in 2021.
In the fleet now are 21 Boeing 757 aircraft that are expected to remain with Icelandair until around 2025.
