Jun 17, 2014 (newstodate): Finnair is seeking measures to compensate for the temporary shortfall of long-haul aircraft capaci9ty.
One Airbus A330 has come in for unplanned maintenance, causing the carrier to charter one Boeing 767 aircraft from the Spanish operator Privilege Style to serve the route between Helsinki and New York from June 20 until the end of the month.
Plans are next to contract the Polish airline LOT to operate the route with Boeing 787 from July 1 until July16, after which date Finnair´s Airbus 330 aircraft is expected to return to traffic.
The contracts with both carriers take the form of wet-lease agreements.
