Jun 03, 2014 (newstodate): Hardly conducive to the resurrection of Egypt's troubled airline and tourism industries, home-bound passengers traveling through Cairo International Airport will now have to pay to get out!
Taking effect from June 1, 2014, the authorities have introduced a 25 USD exit tax for Cairo Airport while passengers going home via other Egyptian airports including Hurghada, Sharm El-Sheikh and other inland airports remain exempt from this tax.
Passengers entering Egypt through Cairo International Airport will also find that the price for Egyptian visas has been raised from 15 to 25 USD, in total adding 50 USD to the bill.
