Jun 11, 2014 (newstodate): At one stroke, Airbus has written down its order log for the A350 XWB aircraft by about 10 percent.
This is a result from the decision by Emirates to cancel its orders for delivery of 50 A350-900 and 20 A350-1000 aircraft, placed in 2007.
Airbus is reviewing its fleet strategy and has instead earlier upped its orders for the A380 aircraft to a total of 140 units.
Before Emirates' cancellation, the order book by Airbus for the A350 aircraft stood at 812 - now landing at 742.
