Jun 12, 2014 (newstodate): Air France Cargo is in the market with new emphasis on rapid cargo transfer services through Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
Branded FastConnect and offering six hours transfer of loose cargo via the hub at Paris CDG, the service was first launched in Southern European markets but will soon be introduced in the Nordic markets as well.
-Plans are to offer FastConnect first in Denmark as soon as possible, meaning already by late summer 2014 or even earlier, says Noud Duyzings, Director KLM/Air France/Martinair Cargo Nordic.
-Basically the service is already effective in Norway covering the extensive loads of fresh salmon and other seafood trucked to our hubs at Amsterdam and Paris for uplift to especially the US market with almost 100 percent operational reliability.
-We expect this new service to be offered in Denmark out of Copenhagen and Billund to further bolster our position in the market targeting primarily export airfreight to destinations in West Africa, South America and the USA where the Air France/KLM Group has a special grip.
-FastConnect will be marketed as a new quality offering at unchanged rates covering all loose cargo shipments, says Mr Duyzings.
