May 30, 2014 (newstodate): Russia's Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport has gained membership of the World Alliance of cargo airports, WCAA.
The alliance was established earlier in May 2014 by Frankfurt Hahn Airport and Zhengzhou Xinzheng Airport, aiming at attracting international cargo airports to cooperate on unified standards of service and cost-efficiency to jointly generate more cargo operations.
Among the cargo carriers currently operating at Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport are AirBridgeCargo, Volga-Dnepr, Cargolux, Air China Cargo, Yangtze River Express and Nordic Global Airlines.
In 2013, the airport handled a total of 29,947 tonnes of cargo and mail, an increase by 6.9 percent, and the airport also expects the positive development to continue in 2014, estimating over 32,000 tonnes of cargo and mail by year-end.
