May 1, 2014 (newstodate): Russia's top-5 cargo carriers increased their joint share in the country's air cargo industry in Q1 2014.
Together, AirBridgeCargo, Aeroflot, Transaero, Volga-Dnepr and S7 Sibir Airlines accounted for 79 percent of all cargo on Russian carriers in January, against 75.9 percent in Q1 2013.
The Top-5 carriers thus lifted a total of 174,781 tonnes of cargo during the period against 171,000 tonnes during the first three months of 2014.
ABC was up 19.3 percent, y-o-y, to 110,263 tonnes, Aeroflot was down 18.5 percent 33,457 tonnes, Transaero was up 9.7 percent to 14,548 tonnes, S7 Sibir was up 3.8 percent to 8,443 tonnes, and finally Volga-Dnepr was down 50 percent to 8,070 tonnes.
In total 35 Russian carriers transported 218,059 tonnes of cargo in Q1 2014, which was a decline by 0.9 percent, y-o-y.
