May 22, 2014 (newstodate): The Faroese carrier Atlantic Airways is placing one Airbus A319 aircraft on a lease contract during the summer period.
The aircraft will be operated by Iceland's LCC WOW Air that is already operating three Airbus A320 aircraft and holding orders for a further three aircraft.
Atlantic Airways has three Airbus 319 in the fleet, one of which is dedicated to serving the trunk line between Vagar Airport and Copenhagen Airport, while the remaining two aircraft are operating for Danish tour operators as well as serving on ad-hoc assignments.
Atlantic Airways is expected to finalize its new strategy for future growth and fleet decisions by mid-June 2014.
