May 07, 2014 (newstodate): Croatia's first low-cost carrier Dalmatian is planning to launch flight operations in the second half of 2014.
The new airline with HQs at Zagreb will start up with offering charter flights, later turning to scheduled flights within Europe and the CIS markets, but in the business plans is also the launch of long-haul flights with wide-body aircraft from Croatia to the USA from 2015.
The carrier is currently hiring management and operational staff including a cargo operations manager to be based at Bracknell, United Kingdom, which will be the carrier's its global region headquarters.
The aircraft fleet will build on Airbus A320 Family aircraft, but from the start the airline will modestly build on one Metroliner on an ACMI contract with the Danish carrier North Flying, also relying on North Flying's AOC pending the finalization of its own AOC granted by the Croatian authorities.
