May 02, 2014 (newstodate): The Polish carrier LOT has now taken delivery of another new Boeing 787 aircraft, flying in directly from the factory.
The latest delivery brings the carrier's Dreamliner fleet to a total of six aircraft, out of an order for eight aircraft.
LOT first placed an order for seven 787 aircraft in 2005, adding an eighth Dreamliner in 2007, and the carrier took delivery of its first Boeing 787 at its home base, Warsaw Airport on November 15, 2012.
Originally, the first delivery was slated for 2008, but delivery schemes were changed repeatedly due to the manufacturer's well-known problems with the aircraft.
Europe's first operator of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, LOT will take delivery of its 8th, and last, Boeing 787 in 2015.
