May 13, 2014 (newstodate): The Norwegian IATA export cargo market is indeed booming and by far exceeding the three other markets covered by the CASS Nordic statistics.
In February 2014, the growth in IATA export cargo out of Norway was 31.8 percent, y-o-y, to 9,845 tonnes, and in March 2014 the figure was 35.6 percent, to 10,715 tonnes.
These steep increases were, however, also due to the fact that Asiana Cargo became member of CASS in Norway from February 2014, which lifted the growth rates.
In February 2014, Asiana Cargo freighters thus generated 1,077 tonnes of cargo in Norway, and in March Asiana added 916 tonnes to the freight volumes accounted for by CASS.
Asiana Cargo's share of the IATA market in Norway was 10.9 percent in February 2014, and 8.5 percent in March.
Since September 7, 2012, the carrier has been operating its twice-weekly Boeing 747-400F freighter at Oslo Gardermoen Airport, coming in from Frankfurt for its onward flight to Incheon, South Korea.
