May 23, 2014 (newstodate): Greenland's new low-cost venture Greenland Express has postponed its launch flight on the route between Denmark and Greenland.
The first flight was scheduled for June 2, 2014, but the Fokker 100 aircraft operated by Denim Air is only leaving the hangar today after maintenance checks and will then go to the paint shop.
These technical snags and issues are, however, not alone in delaying the start-up process.
-Denim Air is still awaiting the final go-ahead from the Dutch aviation authorities that are working exceedingly slowly in adding the Fokker 100 to Denim Air's AOC, says Gert Brask, Greenland Express CEO and driving force.
-At this point of time it is therefore impossible to say exactly when the launch flight will be scheduled, and we can also not know if this first flight will be performed with the Fokker 100 in our color, or with the back-up aircraft, says Mr Brask.
