May 12, 2014 (newstodate): The Faroe Islands' carrier Atlantic Airways is to operate an all-Airbus fleet from this summer.
The airline has placed its last remaining Avro RJ-100 aircraft on a lease contract with the Swedish carrier Malmo Aviation, leaving its with an all-Airbus fleet comprising three A319 aircraft.
One Airbus A319 is dedicated to serving the trunk route between Vagar and Copenhagen, while the two other aircraft are primarily serving outside the Faroe Islands with Danish tour operators as well as on ad-hoc contract with other carriers.
By Mid-June 2014 the airline will complete its work on a new strategy after its change of leadership from late November 2013.
