May 07, 2014 (newstodate): The Danish carrier DAT is still waiting for the arrival of its first Airbus A320-200 aircraft, originally slated for April 2014 already.
With this delivery, the carrier will add a new market segment to the its existing offerings - the market for charter and ACMI flights with up to 174 passengers.
-The Airbus aircraft is currently flying with Adria Airways on a leasing contract - and we have agreed to prolong their leasing period accepting a delayed delivery against a suitable compensation, says Jesper Rungholm, DAT CEO.
DAT now expects the aircraft to join its fleet by July, 2014, operating charter flights out of Billund Airport by Danish tour operators including Primo Tours.
So far, DAT has been operating mainly in the ATR segment as well as offering services with its single MD-83 aircraft offering 135 seats now flying on the Coca Cola World tour to promote the WM finals in Brazil in 2014 and "sold out" till September 2014.
