May 07, 2014 (newstodate): Serving the Icelandic LCC WOW Air since 2013, the German cargo GSSA Transnautic Aircargo Agency is happy to see the carrier deepening its services in the German market.
-In addition to year-round services between Iceland and Berlin with five weekly flights during the current summer schedule, the carrier is also now introducing three weekly flights at Stuttgart, while flights to Dusseldorf will be opened from May 22, 2014, says Hans-Martin Sturz, Transnautic Aircargo Agency.
-All flights are operated with Airbus A320 aircraft offering cargo capacity much in demand in the German market.
-Among the prime shipments are provisions of ships' spares especially out of Hamburg, but also engine parts and components from manufacturers in southern Germany, all in support of Iceland's large fleet of fishing vessels.
-Before, these urgent shipments had to transfer through several points on the way to Iceland, but as time-sensitive cargo they are increasingly going by air and there is indeed a significant market for WOW Air's cargo offerings in Germany.
-In the other direction, WOW Air brings loads of Icelandic seafood to Germany which is also supporting the country's fishing industries, says Mr Sturz.
