May 20 (newstodate): Germany is the world's fifth largest aviation market, but growth during 2013-2032 will fall below the world average, according to the latest Global Market Forecast.
Airbus expect the German market to grow by 3.5 percent annually, against the world average at 4.9 percent per year.
The fleet of aircraft serving Germany will grow by 80 percent from today's 1,013 to 1,821 aircraft by 2032 and is forecast to comprise 1,338 single-aisle, 386 twin-aisle and 97 very large aircraft.
In service with German airlines today are 279 A320 Family aircraft, 19 A300/A310, 77 A330/A340, and 12 A380 aircraft, securing Airbus a market share of more than 65 per cent
To date, there are nearly 180 aircraft in Airbus' backlog for delivery to German carriers, including 150 A320 Family aircraft, 25 A350 and two A380 aircraft.
