Apr 15, 2014 (newstodate): Volumes of flown cargo at Norway's Oslo Gardermoen Airport increased by 3.7 percent, y-o-y, in March 2014.
The volume in March, 9,980 tonnes, brought the total in Q1 2014 to 28,550 tonnes which was still down 0.8 percent on last year's Q1.
The bulk of the cargo, or 21,319 tonnes, was international cargo that increased by 4.8 percent during the period, while domestic cargo dropped by 14.2 percent, y-o-y, to 7,239 tonnes.
The Avinor statistics only comprise flown cargo, thus excluding trucked cargo comprising significant volumes of seafood exports that are trucked into continental airports for onward transportation to the global marketplace.
