Apr 14, 2014 (newstodate): A new owner for the ex-Servisair handling companies in Finland and the UK has now emerged: the Nordic handling company Aviator.
Aviator is thus to acquire the former Servisair ground handling operations at at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport in Finland, London Gatwick and Newcastle Airports in the United Kingdom as well as taking over the Swissport operations at Birmingham Airport in the UK.
As a result of Swissport's take-over of Servisair in 2013, the ex-Servisair cargo companies at Helsinki Airport as well as at London Gatwick Airport and Newcastle Airport had to be divested by Swissport as part of the EU Commission's accept of the merger transaction.
Aviator is a full-range provider of ground handling services, currently operating at 21 airports in the Nordic region.
At London Gatwick, Newcastle, Birmingham and Helsinki Aviator will be responsible for the ground handling for a number of significant national and international airlines, and plans to follow its clear strategy to broaden its portfolio of aviation related services.
The integration of the UK and Finnish operations into Aviator Group will begin as soon as the agreement has been approved by the EU Commission.
