Apr 25,2014 (newstodate): Korean Air Cargo is scaling down two of its three freighter services to the Nordic region during the summer season.
From May 1 to October 25, 2014, the carrier will operate only one weekly freighter service on the route Seoul Incheon Amsterdam Copenhagen Seoul Incheon, reducing the calls at Copenhagen from two during this winter's schedule.
During the same period, calls at Sweden's Stockholm Airport will also go down from three to two on the route Seoul Incheon Amsterdam Stockholm Seoul Incheon, while services at Norway's Oslo Gardermoen Airport will remain unchanged with three weekly calls on the route between Seoul Incheon and Oslo Gardermoen.
-The Nordic region is indeed important to Korean Air Lines Cargo, but demand in the market is traditionally downduring the slack summer season, except in the Norwegian market where the salmon exports is more constant, says Lu Yunboo, Korean Air Cargo Denmark Country Manager Sales and Operations.
Expectations are that the services will return to previous frequencies from the next winter schedule.
