Apr 22, 2014 (newstodate): Surmounting twists and turns along the road, the projected new carrier to offer flights connecting Greenland, Iceland and Denmark has now announced its launch date.
June 2, 2014, will see the first flights by Greenland Express on
a network comprising nine routes between Aalborg and Copenhagen in Denmark, Kangerlussuaq and Narsarssuaq in Greenland, and Keflavik in Iceland.
Greenland Express has signed an ACMI contract with the Dutch carrier Denim Air comprising one Fokker 100 aircraft arriving with Greenland Express in the latter part of May 2014.
It now remains to be seen how Greenland Express passengers will transfer to and from other points in Greenland connecting to the carrier's Transatlantic flights.
As part of the ACMI contract, Denim Air will also secure the services with one further Fokker 100 as a back-up solution.
