Apr 28, 2014 (newstodate): The Icelandair Group's leasing company Loftleidir Icelandic has deepened its involvement with New Guinea's national carrier.
Loftleidir has thus added one Boeing 737-700 and two Boeing 737-800 aircraft to its portfolio and placed all three aircraft with Air Niugini on a leasing contract including maintenance.
Air Niugini already operates two Boeing 767-300ER aircraft on long-term leasing contracts with Loftleidir Icelandic that has also placed one Boeing 757-200 aircraft on a three month leasing contract with Air Niugini, in all cases including maintenance works.
In 2008, Air Niugini also signed a leasing contract with its Icelandic partner for one Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft ordered in 2005 by the Icelandair Group for delivery in 2015.
