Apr 03, 2014 (newstodate): One cargo handling company is up for sale at Finland's Helsinki Vantaa Airport.
As a result of Swissport's take-over of Servisair in 2013, earlier Servisair cargo companies at Helsinki Airport as well as at London Gatwick Airport and Newcastle Airport have been divested by Swissport as part of the EU Commission's accept of the merger transaction.
Otherwise the merged entity would have faced insufficient competition to avoid price increases for ground handling services, according to the EU ruling on the issue.
Now named Helsinki Handling NewCo Oy, the facility at Helsinki Vantaa Airport is managed by former Servisair Finland general manager since 2010, Veijo Karosvuo from January 1, 2014.
So, Helsinki Handling NewCo Oy is an intermediate construction awaiting acquisition by new owners.
