Apr 22, 2014 (newstodate): The Dutch leasing and ACMI provider Denim Air is ready to provide Greenland Express with aircraft to launch Greenland Express operations from June 2, 2014.
-One Fokker 100 aircraft is to be painted in Greenland Express livery and delivered to Greenland Express by the end of May 2014, says Ronald Janssen, Denim Air CEO.
-In our fleet is a second Fokker 100 aircraft that will serve as a back-up for Air Greenland's operations as well as being available for ad-hoc charter operations in the market. This aircraft will thus not be painted in Greenland Express colors.
The Fokker 100 will be delivered on a three-years ACMI contract, with Denim Air thus providing also cockpit and cabin crews.
In January 2014, Greenland Express was planning for start of services with a Denim Air Embraer 195 and had reportedly been hiring an initial batch of 12 cabin crew positions for five-weeks training in Amsterdam, Holland, and to be based in Greenland, Iceland and Denmark, respectively.
It also said its first batch of three cockpit crews comprising six pilots had started Embraer 195 training at Denim Air's base in Holland, in cooperation with Embraer.
Even earlier, plans included chartering one Airbus A320 aircraft, also to be provided by Denim Air
