Apr 30, 2014 (newstodate): Estonian Air is seeking utilization of its two redundant Embraer 170 aircraft burdening its cost base.
In the carrier's fleet are four Embraer E-170 leased from Finnair until 2015 and three Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft, but the tailored route network requires only the capacity of five aircraft leaving two in excess.
With effect from January 1, 2014, one Embraer 170 has been placed with the UK company Air Charter Service appointed the sole agent for the aircraft in the West European ACMI and charter markets.
The other Embraer 170 will start flights from May 4, 2014, between the Swedish airport Vaxjo and Amsterdam in a cooperation with the airport that is striving to attract international traffic.
The route will be operated with eight rotations per week in a code-share agreement with KLM that is also code-sharing Estonian Air's operations between Tallinn, in Estonia, and Amsterdam.
