Apr 30, 2014 (newstodate): Since last autumn, DHL Express has increased its traffic and volumes at Denmark's Copenhagen Airport as a temporary sub-hub to provide additional capacity to accommodate growth and support the European network while the Leipzig-hub is being expanded.
-This process is planned to last until autumn 2015, after which date the hub at Leipzig would again take back the full role as our European hub. In the meantime, our regional volumes are actually growing significantly, and this might enter into the considerations around the future role to be played by Copenhagen Airport, says Claus Lassen, DHL Express (Denmark) Managing Director
-A further fact favoring our operations at Copenhagen Airport is the sustained high level of quality measured month by month despite the strong increase in volumes and operations.
-We have actually now reached the ceiling on capacity of our physical premises at the airport - but given the temporary character of the situation no decisions on expansion are currently feasible, says Mr Lassen.
