Apr 02, 2014 (newstodate): The Belarus carrier Belavia is seeing positive growth trends in cargo after the first quarter of this year.
In March 2014, cargo and mail volumes were up 35.1 percent, y-o-y, to 236 tonnes, and in the first three months volumes have risen 15.4 percent , y-o-y, to 569 tonnes.
The latest addition to Belavia's route network was the launch on December 19, 2013, of the route between Minsk and Vilnius, Lithuania.
The carrier has been online at Riga, Latvia since January 19, 2010, and at Helsinki, in Finland, since June 1, 2011, all markets served by Sky High Agency as the carrier's cargo GSSA.
Belavia's routes into these markets are served with CRJ200 aircraft offering limited cargo capacity but ideal for hi-value express shipments with higher yield potentials.
