Mar 20, 2014 (newstodate): A new Slovakia-China JV airline is being registered in Bratislava.
To be named WDL Airlines, the carrier will reportedly be using a leased Boeing 747 aircraft on a first route between Bratislava and Tianjin, China.
Plans are to start operations with two or three rotations in May or June 2014, with Jaroslav Melisko as its CEO.
Behind the project is the Slovakia-China Chamber of Commerce, also headed by Mr Melisko, and the Chinese partner will hold 60 percent of the stake and Slovakian partners the remaining 40 percent.
