Mar 13, 2014 (newstodate): With some delay, Norway's Oslo Gardermoen Airport has now published lead figures for its cargo performance in January 2014.
Over-all, volumes at the airport were down by 1.4 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 9,597 tonnes.
The airport's international cargo did increase by 4.9 percent to 7,190 tonnes, but pulling in the opposite direction was domestic cargo that fell 16.4 percent to 2,407 tonnes in January.
While international cargo volumes through Oslo Gardermoen Airport were thus up by "only" 4.9 percent, y-o-y, the country's volumes of export cargo on IATA carriers alone were on the contrary up by a hefty 30.7 percent, y-o-y, to 10,209 tonnes as most of the cargo exports comprising fresh salmon is trucked to continental airport for onward uplift to the global market place, bypassing Oslo Gardermoen Airport.
