Mar 28, 2014 (newstodate): Bluebird Cargo is discontinuing its service on the route between Iceland and Cologne for partners including Cargolux.
With effect from April 1, 2014, the flights will however be suspended and cargo sales by Cargolux on the route will thus be stopped "until further notice", says Cargolux in a message.
Bluebird Cargo confirms that the decision has been taken to stop flights on the route that has been served by the carrier for a long period.
-It does not, however, indicate that cooperation between Bluebird Cargo and Cargolux is to stop. Rather, it will take on a new form to be announced at a later stage, says Steinn Logi Bjornsson, Bluebird Cargo so-owner and Chairman of the Board.
The route was also used to feed freight to and from UPS' gateway at Cologne.
