Mar 14, 2014 (newstodate): Finnair has a strong focus on traffic to Japan as the only European carrier to operate into all three main Japanese destinations Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka.
Finnair Cargo does not currently operate freighter flights to Japan but is utilizing the belly space on the airline's passenger aircraft.
In addition, Finnair Cargo has also signed a contract with its oneworld partner Japan Air Lines comprising sale of all capacity on this carrier's four weekly Boeing 787 rotations since March 2013 on the route between Tokyo Narita and Helsinki Vaanta Airport in cooperation with Finnair.
Weighing heavily in Finnair Cargo's services to Japan is the Norwegian salmon trucked from production sites in Norway into Helsinki Vantaa Airport, with volumes generally around 300 tonnes per week.
