Mar 24, 2014 (newstodate): The incoming Estonian minister of economy, Urve Palo has surprised the market by uttering her skepticism about the national carrier's chances for survival.
As reported by the Estonian press, Ms Palo said "If we talk about Estonian Air, it has been essentially on the brink of bankruptcy for the seven years that Juhan Parts has been minister. It is very likely that the European Commission will not give consent for state assistance, and it can be presumed that it will go bankrupt."
The carrier is actually performing according to its restructuring plan and even improving on some of the crucial parameters while awaiting the outcome of the ongoing EU probe.
