Mar 18, 2014 (newstodate): A Korean Air Airbus A380 has been visiting the Czech Republic's Prague Ruzyne Airport as a one-off event.
The A380 performed a rotation on the route between Seoul and Prague, also demonstrating the airport's ability to cope with handling of the large aircraft.
Prague Ruzyne Airport is actually preparing for a future with the largest class of civil aircraft including the Airbus A380 and the Boeing 747-8, having now opened a tender for construction of new aircraft gates equipped to handling of these aircraft types after obtaining certification for handling of the F type aircraft last autumn.
Korean Air launched services to Prague on May 15, 2004, and is now offering four weekly rotations on the route to Prague in cooperation with its equity-partner CSA where Korean Air holds 44 percent of the stake since March 2013.
